A Life DEDICATED TO
OUR COMMUNITY

Wes Golden has dedicated his life to serving the people of Montgomery County. Raised with a strong belief in giving back, Wes began volunteering as a child with organizations like Dream Factory and Bikers Who Care, helping raise more than $1 million for local children in need. That early commitment to service continued throughout his life as he served the community as a firefighter and EMT, helping protect local families. His dedication to helping others has earned recognition across the community, including being named YMCA Volunteer of the Year in 2016. He continues to support organizations such as the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, Kiwanis, Urban Ministries, Friends of Dunbar Cave, and the Montgomery County Soccer Association.
Golden brings a unique blend of public service and private sector leadership to his role as Montgomery County Mayor. Before entering public office, he built a career focused on safety and operational leadership, serving as Environmental Health Manager for Martinrea where he oversaw safety programs for more than 14,000 employees and helped cut workplace incidents in half. He later served as Health and Safety Manager for the City of Clarksville, strengthening occupational health and safety programs across 13 city departments. This experience in both government and industry helped shape his practical, results driven approach to leadership.
During his first term as Mayor, Golden focused on the priorities that matter most to local families, strong schools, safe communities, responsible growth, and a high quality of life. Under his leadership, Montgomery County has secured major private investment including two new hospitals and expanded healthcare services bringing hundreds of high paying jobs to the area. The county also strengthened public safety by creating the Montgomery County Fire Department, expanding School Resource Officers, adding an additional ambulance and staffing in North Clarksville, and launching a fully staffed county run medic program.
Golden has also worked to ensure Montgomery County stays ahead of rapid growth while protecting the character of the community. The county has opened three new schools in three years, advanced major infrastructure projects including the Rossview Road widening and improvements along Lafayette Road, and expanded parks and recreational opportunities with new parks at Fredonia, Stokes, and Brigham. Looking ahead, plans are underway for a new county fairgrounds, additional public safety facilities, and continued investments in roads, stormwater systems, and community spaces. Wes and his wife Sara are active members of LifePoint Church and are raising their three children, Nash, Lydia, and Mia, right here in Montgomery County, where they remain deeply committed to the future of the community they call home.
